Patsy Ruth Miller in Wide Open (1930) & Mother (1978)

Wide Open (1930) is a pre-Code romantic comedy film released by Warner Bros., and based on the novel The Narrow Street by Edward Bateman Morris. Edward Everett Horton has a rare leading role, opposite Patsy Ruth Miller.

Mother (1978) co-starring Coleen Gray

An indie film shot in Houston, Texas during 5 days at the Plaza Hotel in Montrose. This was Miss Miller’s last film. She came out of retirement for her friend, Brian Pinette, who also was the writer, producer and director. Brian had just turned 20 years of age.

The film was written for both Miss Miller and Miss Gray. Coleen portrays a daughter who must place her Mom (Patsy) into a “home for the old and aged” in this serio-comic 60 minute opus.
